Ric Rac

Shown here is the 1/8" ric rac. I've been having fun cutting this stuff and I have lots of ideas what I can do with it. As you can see, it comes in some great colors. In this share, you get 5 yards of each of 11 colors for a total of 55 yards for $21.00.

Shown in this photo is 1/4" ric rac. I inadvertently left the cream color out of the photo, but it is included in the share. You'll get 5 yards each of 15 colors for a total of 75 yards for $25.00.

Burlap String

I've had a few requests for photos of the May Arts products, so here they are!

This is the burlap string. I can best describe it as a cross between jute, linen thread, and hemp. It's softer than jute, but not stiff like hemp, and much finer, more like SU's linen thread. These are great colors. In their listings, May Arts also listed white, gold, and silver. The gold and silver are exactly like SU's gold and silver cord. The white is exactly the same as the gold and silver, except it's an irridescent white. This stuff is great! In this share, you get 10 yards of the colors, 15 yards of white, gold, and silver for $12.

This is a covered 3"x 5" post-it and candle I made for a friend. I used some striped patterned paper I have around, plus the Looks Like Spring SU set. Also in the photo is my 3/8" organdy ribbon and 1/4" grosgrain.

Here's the girly version of the covered notebook. I used my Sizzix Bounce alphabet for the name. The colors are So Saffron and Cranberry Crisp. I added some gold Stickles to the center of the cut-out flower for a bit of bling!

On another note, I still have 6 shares of 1/4" ric rac and 6 of 1/8". I have lots of shares of burlap string left since I have to buy 400 yard spools. I also have a handful of stitched grosgrain spots left as well.

May Arts Ribbons have arrived!!!

I had a nice surprise on my doorstep today!! The May Arts Ribbons are here. Can I just say they are amazing!!

I will post a picture later of each different kind. The one I'm most surprised by at the moment is the Burlap string. It's about the thickness of SU's linen thread, but very soft to the touch. It's a lot thinner than hemp cording, which I personally find refreshing because it's so easy to work with!

The gold, silver, and white are more similar to SU's gold and silver cord. The white is actually more of an iridescent white. I can't wait to use some of this stuff on my Christmas cards!

May Share Ribbons

It's Time for Teacher Gifts

Well, it's that time of year! My kids get out of school Friday and I realized I hadn't made anything for the teachers and staff at at the school. Time to get busy!

I spent the morning designing and stamping and here are the results:





Steve is our principal, and this is the only "male" gift I needed to make. The ones for the other teachers are still in the works and I'll post them later. More work, more flowery!

I used a sheet of striped paper from my multi-thousand sheet stash. I used Cranberry Crisp CS from SU and a long retired SU set called Have a Ball. The finished project measures approximately 5" x 8". Inside is a Jr. Legal size notepad. The cover is glued to the notepad and has a pocket inside. I got the pattern for this from SCS quite a long time ago and it's one of my favorite projects.

I love to give these to kids for birthdays with a $5 bill tucked into the pocket.
